Battlefield 3 to be EA's Biggest Launch of All Time
EA is background its sights paid on the Ring of Duty money pile with Field 3.
There's no question right now that EA wants to take its biggest rival's (Activision) biggest material possession (Call of Obligation) down from the uppermost spot, and DICE's Field 3 is its primary weapon to do but that. Hell, that'd be obvious even if EA CEO John Riccitiello hadn't same it instantaneously.
To make sure that Battlefield 3 stands a chance against Call of Duty: The Next Nonpareil, EA volition be putting quite a bit of money behind it. In a conference call with investors now, EA aforementioned that it was planning for the biggest launch in its company story. The publishing giant will be devising an "enormous commitment of resources" to promote DICE's shooter against the competition.
So out-of-the-way, interest in the title is up, which may be out-of-pocket to the spunky looking curse safe. Preorders for Battlefield 3 are showing a massive 700% increase over preorders for last year's Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which should equal heartening to investors worried their money is being misspent – especially with all the money being funneled to EA's past massive project, The Old Democracy.
I'm not sure I'm along board with the melodic theme of tailoring a product specifically to beat another game. DICE is a real talented developer, in that respect's no denying that, but telling them to "go make a COD-killer" seems less artful than just trusting them to make the best bedamn Field of honor they can make. Still, however it turns knocked out, EA is putt a good deal of money behind the game so for its rice beer I Leslie Townes Hope it does well at market.
Is Battlefield 3 on your wish number?
